Substance
tries to publish all letters that can be verified. The Substance Letters section is devoted to an exchange of information and opinion. We especially encourage letters from people working in the schools and retirees — teachers, career service, principals and school engineers. We also encourage letters from intelligent citizens on topics of interest regarding public education in Chicago and elsewhere. Substance does not publish anonymous letters or letters signed "Name Withheld by Request." Letters from administrators, lawyers, external partners, public relations flacks, and private contractors profiting from Board of Education business must include information pertaining to these matters. Such letters, if published, will include complete disclosure of all relevant financial data pertaining to the writer's fiduciary interest in the issue being discussed. Please send your letters to:
