Jobs with justice meets in June in Miami

Jobs With Justice — which is backed by AFL-CIO, CLUW, ACLU and many other labor, civil rights, and community activist groups — will hold its annual meeting in Miami, Florida from June 19-22, 2003. Usually drawing about 10,000 participants, there is a student labor pre-conference for two days starting at 9 a.m. on June 19th. That part of the conference is sponsored and paid for by six other supporting national and international groups. About 35 speakers and performers will make presentations during the conference including Congressman Luis V. Guiterrez (Chicago) and Alderman Ricardo Munoz, both of whom are a members of the Workers Rights Board. Also speaking will be actor Danny Glover and other entertainers.

Advanced Registration before May 1 gives discounts of 15 percent to 25 percent. The conference is at the Wyndham Resort which has discounts for rooms. Costs include lunches, Friday banquet, coffee, materials and entertainment.
